An evaluation of the Tellmi app

Overview and aims:

Tellmi is a wellbeing app centred around peer support, where young people can anonymously post about things that they are struggling with and receive support from peers of a similar age. The app also contains wellbeing resources and signposting to other support services.

The overall aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of Tellmi on the wellbeing and mental health of young people.

Sample:

The participants in this study are young adults aged 18-25 years who are Tellmi users.

Methods:

This is a mixed methods project using workshops, interviews and surveys to address the research aim. Qualitative methods are used to explore the experience of young people using the app, and quantitative methods are used to evaluate the impact of the app via any changes on measures of wellbeing and mental health. All research is being conducted online (using REDCap and Microsoft Teams).
